CLIENT REQUIREMENTS
CEN was engaged to conduct a full value chain Scope 1-3 emissions analysis and methodology assessment across the business. As part of the project, our team was also required to produce a Science Based Targets (SBTi) design and a TPT-aligned Net Zero Transition Plan, supporting internal approvals throughout the process.
OUR APPROACH
Our team reviewed emissions and underlying data across the value chain to validate data quality and identify key emissions hotspots across Scopes 1, 2, and 3. We engaged with key stakeholders across the business to understand the most relevant and material scope 3 categories and modelled emission reduction initiatives against SBTi target options. We have also engaged with the leadership team to explain SBTi process, the available decarbonisation options, supporting the development of the TPT-aligned Nez Zero Transition Plan for further stakeholder engagement.
OUTCOME AND DELIVERABLES
Our deliverables included a Board pack, setting out SBTI-aligned and near- and long-term Scope 1,2, and 3 emissions reduction targets and strategic options. CEN also managed the client's SBTi submission process of their behalf. The completed Transition Plan provided Oxford Instruments with a practical roadmap towards net zero, aligned with stakeholder expectations and supporting future engagement with investors and other key stakeholders.
