CSRD Compliant Double Materiality Assessment for Coats Group plc
_edited.jpg)
CLIENT REQUIREMENTS
Our team was tasked with supporting the client's CSRD reporting programme through a comprehensive Double Materiality Assessment (DMA). This included identifying and assessing financial and impact materiality across relevant sustainability topics, determining, ranking and quantifying material impacts, risks and opportunities (IROs), mapping these against the ESRS disclosure requirements and providing assurance over both the material IROs and overall double materiality process.
OUR APPROACH
We worked closely with internal data owners and stakeholders across Sustainability, Risk, Human Resources, Legal and Finance departments to complete a comprehensive Double Materiality Assessment. This included value chain mapping, desktop research and stakeholder engagement to identify and validate material IROs. We supported the CSRD working group in ranking and quantifying IROs, establishing appropriate materiality thresholds and mapping the resulting disclosures to the ESRS requirements.
OUTCOME AND DELIVERABLES
The project resulted in an assurance-ready DMA report, a supporting methodology document and comprehensive documentation of the assessment process. We developed a detailed map of material IROs, ESRS topics, sub-topics and sub-sub-topics, supporting the client's internal sustainability reporting framework and dashboard. The findings were presented to the Executive Committee and received positive feedback from the client's external auditors.
