CLIENT REQUIREMENTS
Our team was tasked with optimising CDP responses and improving Climate Change and Water Security scores. This included supporting the client through CDP's extensive 2024 questionnaire update, integrating previous responses, incorporating new CSRD-aligned reporting requirements and carrying out pre-submission scoring checks to identify opportunities for improvement before final submission.
OUR APPROACH
We evaluated and scored the client's CDP responses using our proprietary assessment methodology throughout the submission process for both Climate Change and Water Security. Responses were assessed across the key categories, including Business Strategy, Disclosure, Awareness and Governance, with detailed recommendations provided to strengthen response quality and alignment with CDP scoring methodology. We worked closely with the client to incorporate feedback, refine responses and improve predicted final scores prior to submission.
OUTCOME AND DELIVERABLES
In the first year of engagement, CEN supported Coats in improving its CDP Climate Change rating from B- to B, while maintaining a B rating for Water Security. In 2024, Coats achieved its highest CDP scores in over a decade, including an improved A- for Water Security, reflecting its continued leadership in water stewardship, while maintaining a B rating for Climate Change. Alongside the submission, we provided practical recommendations to support further improvements in future reporting cycles.
